Joy That Doesn’t Need a Reason

I’ve been thinking about joy lately. Not the kind that comes from checking boxes or everything finally going the way you planned. I mean the kind that just shows up. Quiet, steady, already there.

It’s easy to look for a reason to feel good. We tie joy to progress, to people, to good news. But real joy doesn’t always wait for a celebration. Sometimes it just rises up from somewhere deeper. And when it does, you feel it before you understand it.

For me, that’s God. That’s what it means to carry something inside that the world didn’t give you. And because of that, the world can’t take it away. Even when life is uncertain, that kind of joy doesn’t disappear. It stays close. It reminds you that you’re not walking through this alone.

There are days when I laugh for no reason at all. Days when I feel light without needing an explanation. I’m not going to question it. I’ll take it as it comes.
