At the pool of Bethesda, mercy met human need. The sick and weary gathered there, waiting for change, and it was in that waiting place that Jesus appeared. He didn’t start with a miracle; He started with a question. Do you want to be made whole?
That question still meets us in the places where we’ve grown used to pain. Every morning, God offers new mercy, but we have to decide whether we’ll stay where we are or reach toward what He’s offering. Within the voice of Jesus is the power to make us whole, yet healing begins when we respond.
We’re still standing because God looks out for those who feel unseen. But standing is only the beginning. Restoration requires partnership. Sometimes deliverance comes when we stop defending our brokenness and start moving with faith. You have never had a need that God cannot provide, but He invites you to take the first step.
When Jesus told the man to get up, He was speaking to more than weak legs—He was speaking to a weary soul. The moment he moved, new life met him right where he was. God still meets us like that. He gives new possibilities in old places, turning what was broken into testimony.
So, get up. Go forward. Beyond here, there is a blessing.
