Jesus rising from the dead was not just a moment in history. It was the proof that all power belongs to Him. Real authority has always come from God, not from us. When we accept Christ, we are given the right to carry that authority into our lives, and with that authority comes responsibility. We have been deputized, entrusted by God to manage the conflicts and challenges around us. Many people are willing to be saved, but not all are willing to be committed. Yet commitment is where real strength is found. Leave Jesus out, and you leave out authority itself.
This is why discipleship matters. Jesus did not only call us to believe; He told us to make disciples. Following Him is more than claiming His name. It is about living it, learning His ways, and growing into the people He has called us to be. All things were created through Christ, and nothing exists outside of Him. Every situation we face, no matter how overwhelming, is still under His authority. He holds power over creation, and He holds power over our lives.
That is why we must ask ourselves if we are living as hybrids, partly committed to Christ but also leaning on our own strength, or if we are walking fully in the new identity we were given when we accepted Him. The moment you said yes to Jesus, your name changed. You were given His name, His covering, and His authority. To walk in that name is to live with confidence, not because of who we are but because of who He is. Our call is to stay committed, to make disciples, and to carry the authority God has placed in our hands.
